It's no secret that Trader Joe's is a go-to snack destination. But in the never-ending quest to find a bar that tastes like a treat but isn't loaded with sugar and lacking in "staying power." That's where the ABC (which stands for Almond Butter and Cocoa) Bars shines — its almond butter filling makes it stick to the ribs more than your average granola bar. This bar has it all — a decent amount of fat, fiber and protein but with just 6 grams of sugar.
TJs describes them this way: "Pocket-sized squares of oat-and-rice-flour-based, chocolatey dough (made with real cocoa and a dash of almond butter), sweetened with fig paste and filled with almond butter."
These ABC Bars are a family favorite because of the chocolate and sweet and salty taste, and because they are hardy in a backpack and in the sun. They are soft but not overly breakable. In fact, they are my son's absolute favorite snack bar, and the only reason we don't have them on hand all the time is because the TJ's is across town from us.
